Learning Development Project

This programme is the latest of jole rider’s introductions and, becoming operational in September 2010, will provide another valuable stimulus to learning and teaching, supporting our mission-
                   “changing lives through education”

The Learning Development Project [LDP] runs in direct parallel with its sister books4Africa and plays a unique role in learning and teaching.
The positive effect of the Project will reach more than 25 schools in the region in addition to a number of schools outside The Gambia.

The programme, based at our Learning Development Centre at Sifoe Senior Secondary School, in western Gambia, has three main functions:

          1. The Mustering Station for educational material from the UK.
The Centre acts as a Learning Resource hub for students and teachers.

          2. The promotion of International
School Partnerships.
Objectives also include the facilitation of on-going linked project work.

          3. A focal point for students, teachers and academics.
Creating forums for sharing views,
challenges, solutions and new thinking.

The formal opening of the Learning Development Centre is timed for Easter 2011.

If you are a teacher or academic and would like to know more about working at the Centre as part of a teacher secondment opportunity, then please contact us.
We will be able to accommodate our first visitors at the start of 2011.

Please see our Amazon Wish List, below, to find out some of the education resources needed in the Centre. For every purchase made via our Wish Lists jole rider will receive a small commission from Amazon - at no cost to you - which will help us change even more lives in Africa through education.
